Dodi Tal River

Perched at an elevation of 3024 meters, Dodital is a spectacular freshwater lake in Uttarkashi. Locally called 'Dhundital' meaning Ganesh ka Tal, this lake has a religious connotation too. Local people believe that Lord Ganesh chose this place as his abode and there is also a Ganesh temple, located by the lake. Counted as one of the popular Uttarkashi places to visit, Dodital Lake is surrounded by opulent alpine vegetation and snow-laden mountains. Ideal for picnic, trekking and sunrise views; this lake is a true gem of Uttarkashi.

Gangotri Glacier

This is the snout of the glacier of Gangotri, the origin of river Bhagirathi. Gaumukh is considered as one of the primary sources for Ganges. The snout is believed to have appeared like a cow's mouth and hence, the name Gangotri. The heavily damaging rains, in 2016 in Uttarakhand, washed away the front end of Gangotri.

Gangotri

Gangotri is a popular Hindu pilgrim town and a Nagar Panchayat in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It is located on the Greater Himalayan Range at a height of 3,100 meters above the sea level. Resting on the banks of River Bhagirathi, it is the origin point of River Ganges. Maa Ganga Temple, Gangotri Temple, and Surya Kund Gangotri are some of the most popular places to visit. You cannot afford to miss the experience of Gangotri.

Kedarkantha

Kedarkantha also known as 'Shiva's Lake' is one of the highest lakes in Uttarakhand. This immaculate glacial lake is seated at an elevation of 4,912 metres above sea level in the Uttarkashi district. Kedar kant lake is formed by the melting of Kedar glacier, thereby giving birth to Kedar.

Vishwanath

Sri Kashi Vishwanath temple is one of the oldest and most sacred of temples in Uttarkashi, situated on bank of river Bhagirathi. The temple offers the spectacular view of river Bhagirathi along with the surrounding mountains. Due to its popularity it is also the part of many Char Dham Yatra Itineraries, which helps pilgrims to visit this temple along with the famous Char Dhams.

Dayaral Bugyal

Dayara Bugyal is grass land starting at 2600 mtrs and goes upto 3500 mtrs. The 9 kms of trek through the woods and rhododendron tress takes one to this pristine place, in summers the shepherds reach here with their cattle and stay till the onset of winters. in winters the meadows turn into snow land with potential of skiing and snow activities.
